Here is the novel Basil thought might be his best!
A gaslight tale replete with the steam-train grittiness of England in the writer’s youth, building inexerorably to the horror out on the moor. Maybe a little too raw for publishers when he first wrote it, this tale languished for years before F&B brought it into print. Still the only version available, and absolutely Copper at his Gothic finest.
